Time management and busy schedules
Although most people believe cheerleaders just dance around the sidelines and distract viewers from the game, they actually dedicate all of their time to perfect each move, skill, or stunt. Cheerleading involves practices every day of the week, football games on Friday nights, and for those who participate in competition cheer, competitions on the weekends. On top of this, conditioning is a large part of prepping for football or competition season. Even though it is difficult to maintain school, extracurricular activities, and this sport, cheerleaders do it to the best of their ability in order to do what makes them happy and what they are best at, representing their team and their school. Learning to cheer in sync, conduct a stunt safely, and improve jumps, practices take a lot of time and effort every day of the week. Along with these lengthy practice often comes injuries due to the dangerous stunts or doing something such as a jump incorrectly. Another part of the sport that takes up a considerable amount of time is the fundraisers done in order to attend tumbling camps, stunt camps, and keep our look updated. Some of these fundraisers include car washes, bake sales, thirty-one sales, candle sales, sponsoring and many other time consuming but worthwhile fundraisers. The constant time and effort put forth toward this sport shows the passion and love that each participant has for cheerleading and the amount of school spirit they possess.
